SOWA moves on to a new sound.
In Her Control is electropop about strength and control over your own life.
“Chaos” is the opposite: it is about the right to be imperfect and not to control everything.
In the autumn comes “To Infinity”, a song about closeness, the fear of feelings and finally letting yourself live without constant inner control.
The lyrical “Current” comes out.
Together with the rapper XAC, SOWA reimagines the insurgent song “Hey, Across the Steppes”, blending historical material with a modern sound.
Later comes “Juliet”.
SOWA starts experimenting boldly with her sound and her image.
Out come “Softly, Softly”, “Silly Girl”, “Princess Rose” and “Ex”.
This is when she stops looking for one “right” style and lets herself change.
Her debut album “Vinyl” comes out: 16 songs that bring SOWA’s first years together into one story.
The same year, together with Yurcash, she records a new version of Skryabin’s song “Forgive Me”.
A big solo concert presenting the album takes place in Kyiv.
The war changes the whole context of her work.
“Tears Are My Weapon” and “Home” appear, songs about loss, Ukraine and coming back.
Her family’s home places in the Kherson region fall under occupation, the family business suffers losses and the family house is destroyed.
At the end of the year SOWA founds the Guardian Angel charity to help soldiers, displaced people and children.
SOWA releases “Scars”, one of her first songs where she is not only the singer but also the songwriter.
She performs at Atlas Weekend and on the main stage of the Ukrainian Song Project.
Together with MELOVIN she records “Secret Sign”.
At the same time she enters the Glière Academy of Music.
Her debut single “River” comes out.
It is followed by “No Dilemma” and “One on One”. The songs reach radio airplay and TV rotation.
The competition years come to an end. Her own music project begins.
As a teenager, Diana took part in dozens of vocal competitions in Ukraine and abroad.
In 2018 she won the VOCAL.UA Grand Prix, sang at Young Galicia and auditioned for televised singing shows.
In a few years: more than a hundred competitions and dozens of awards.
That is when the stage name SOWA appears, from a family nickname and a symbol that had been with Diana since childhood.
Diana was born on 14 May 2004 in Lviv. From early childhood she studied singing and piano, went to music school and kept entering competitions.
The Kherson region was also an important part of her childhood: the family spent a lot of time there and had a family business and a home.
